Berry was appointed to the Blinn Board of Trustees in December 2015. During her tenure, she voted to approve Blinn College’s partnership with The Texas A&M University System at the RELLIS Campus, formerly the Riverside Campus. The RELLIS Campus establishes a new educational community combining a major university system and a community college at a single physical location. This co-location will allow Blinn students to transfer seamlessly to leading universities throughout The Texas A&M System in the years to come.

“Serving beside Nancy Berry truly has been an honor,” said Board President David Sommer. “Her unwavering commitment to student success and clear vision for the future have made her a tremendous partner in Blinn’s mission to provide outstanding service to the community.”

Dr. Mary Hensley, District President/CEO said that Berry “has been a superb member of the Blinn Board of Trustees and a tremendous friend to Blinn students, faculty, staff, and administrators. We certainly wish her the best in her new role as a Brazos County Commissioner.”

Berry was elected Mayor of College Station in 2010 and re-elected in 2013, and previously served as a member of the city council from 2004-06. She has been a Boys & Girls Clubs board member since 2004, served as a College Station ISD Foundation Board member since 2003, and has served as policy board chair of the Metropolitan Planning Organization since 2010.

Berry is a graduate of Leadership Brazos, Leadership America, the Brazos Valley Leadership Forum, Senior Leadership Brazos, Leadership Texas, the College Station Citizens Police Academy, and the College Station Citizens Fire Academy.
