BFD NAMES FIREFIGHTER AND AUXILLARY MEMBER OF THE YEAR

  

The Brenham Fire Department has named Andrew Jozwiak Firefighter of the Year.

Jozwiak, who works the C shift in the department, is in charge of the department’s fleet of fire trucks. He has been with the department for 10 years, and has earned many certifications through the department.

Jozwiak is also an intermediate firefighter, driver operator, fire instructor I, fire officer I, and basic wild land, and a certified emergency vehicle technician.

Kelly Weiss was chosen Ladies Auxiliary Member of the Year. Weiss has been around the Brenham Fire Department for most of her life.

Weiss participates in many fire department activities, and joined the Brenham Ladies Auxilary in 2001, having held many offices such as president, vice president and historian, and is currently its chaplain.

She is also an active participant in the many department fundraiser, and has inherited the title “cheese queen” from her many years involved in selling “cheese logs” for the Department

She is a graduate of Sam Houston State University with a degree in banking and financial institutions, and is currently working in the loan operations department at the Bank of Brenham
