Attorney Bill Kendall was elected the next Precinct Four Justice of the Peace.

Kendall defeated runoff opponent Robin Luedtke with 613 votes to Luedtke’s 392 votes.

Kendall congratulated Luedtke and March 4th opponent Val Kiecke for a good and honorable race.  Now he says  he is looking forward to January when he can serve precinct four and the rest of Washington County.

Kendall has been a practicing attorney in Brenham since 1995.  He moved to Brenham from Houston after graduating from the South Texas School of Law.  He was working full time for Houston Lighting and Power when he was going to law school.

Washington County voted much the same way as the rest of the State.  Texas Republicans ousted three-term Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst by giving State Senator Dan Patrick an overwhelming victory.  Patrick won in the Washington County vote with 68.7 percent.  Patrick will now face San Antonio State Senator Leticia Van De Putte in November.

Republicans nominated Ken Paxton as their nominee for attoreny general.  He defeated Dan Branch with a strong statewide margin.  Washington County voters reflected the same result.  Paxton will now go up against a very familiar name.  The Democrats nominated attorney named Sam Houston.

The state Democrats are breathing a sigh of relief as Dr. David Alameel handily defeated LaRouche follower Kesha Rogers for the nomination for U.S. Senator. Alameel will now face incumbent Repubolican John Cornyn.
