BISD BOARD TO ADOPT TAX RATE AND BUDGET MONDAY NIGHT

The Brenham School Board is expected to adopt the 2014-15 budget and tax rate when they meet Monday night.

Two weeks ago, the board voted unanimously to keep the District’s tax rate at $1.13 per $100 valuation.

That tax rate will fund a $39-million budget, which is a 3.1% increase over last year.  A large portion of that increase is a 2.5% pay raise the board approved for all district employees.

The board will also hear a report on the 2014 District and Campus Accountability Report and Rankings.

As a whole, the Brenham District was rated “Met Standard”.  Seven of the district’s eight campuses were rated “Met Standard” while Alton Elementary was the only campus to be rated “Improvement Required”.

The board will also hear an update on the two construction projects: The new Alton Elementary School and the renovations to the Brenham Middle School.

The board will meet Monday night at 5:30 in lecture rooms 111 and 113 at Brenham High School.
