BIZARRE ACCIDENT CLAIMS NORTH ZULCH WOMAN’S LIFE

The Department of Public Safety continues to investigate a bizarre accident Thursday night that killed a North Zulch woman.

66-year-old Phyllis Robinson was killed Thursday when a heavy piece of oilfield equipment fell off an 18-wheeler heading east on Highway 21 between Bryan and Madisonville.

The frak valve bounced on the road and crashed into Robinson's Trailblazer, which was heading the other way.

The driver of the 18-wheeler, 37-year-old Aaron Moore of Boyd, Texas was not injured according to DPS Troopers.

The accident occurred in an area with a history of accidents.

TxDOT is looking at widening that portion of Highway 21 or adding passing lanes, but currently there's no funding for the project.
