BLINN 2017 CLAY SHOOTOUT SET FOR APRIL 7TH

The Blinn College Alumni & Friends and the Buccaneer Alumni Lettermen associations will host the third annual Blinn College Clay Shootout on Friday, April 7, to raise money for academic scholarships and athletic equipment.

“We are going to have record attendance with nearly 60 teams this year,” said Dr. Kyle Merten, Alumni Relations Director. “Volunteers from Blinn’s campuses in Brenham, Bryan, Schulenburg, and Sealy will be on hand to ensure that we have another outstanding event this year.”

The Clay Shootout will be held at the Boswell Porter 4-H Shotgun Range, located at 7676 County Rd 247 in Caldwell. Entry for a four-person team is $500, or $125 for a single shooter that will be paired with a team. There will be 8:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. flights.

The shoot will include 100 sporting clays. Food will be provided throughout the day along with drinks, raffles, prizes and trophies. For non-shooters, there will be unlimited food and drink for $20.

Shooters must provide their own shotgun and ammunition. Registration will be held one hour before shoot time with a safety meeting 30 minutes before. Awards will be presented to the top male, female, and youth following the last flight.

Shooters under the age of 17 must have completed their hunter’s safety certification. This year’s Shootout underwriters are Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative, Inc. and McCoy Workplace Solutions.
