BLINN BOARD TO CONSIDER BRYAN CAMPUS PROJECTS

The Blinn College Board of Trustees will consider authorizing the College to negotiate professional services agreements for three Bryan campus improvement projects during its regular meeting on Tuesday, March 22.

The board will consider authorizing administrators to negotiate an agreement with Bleyl & Associates for the design of an extension to Red River Road and the dredging of Briar Creek on the College’s Bryan campus, and to seek bids for the construction of these projects.

The proposed Red River Drive extension would provide enhanced mobility for campus students, faculty, staff and visitors. As currently constructed, the campus is entrance-only at the Red River intersection; the proposed construction would create a full-purpose intersection allowing vehicles to exit the campus onto Villa Maria Road.

The proposed dredging project would remove silt from two campus ponds that feed into Briar Creek, increasing the ponds’ storm-water capacity and improving the campus aesthetic.

In other business, the board will consider authorizing the administration to negotiate a professional services agreement with Arkitex Studio for the design of landscaping improvements on the Bryan campus. These improvements would include the campus space adjacent to the Administration Building, berms on the south perimeter of the campus and two campus quads.

The meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, on the third floor of the Brenham campus Administration Building located at 802 Green St.  Story courtesy of Blinn College.
