BLINN BOARD TO HEAR UPDATE ON RELLIS CAMPUS

The Blinn Board of Trustees will hear an update about the RELLIS Campus during their meeting on Tuesday.

In May, The Texas A&M System unveiled plans to create the RELLIS Campus- a new research and development campus to help companies move ideas from the laboratory to the marketplace while also offering a new path toward a college degree.

One aspect of the RELLIS Campus plan involves the development of a multi-institutional Gateway Education Center that will provide space for Texas A&M System member institutions and Blinn to offer a variety of curricula.

The RELLIS Campus Academic Update will be presented by Dr. James Hallmark, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs TAMUS, and Dr. James K. Nelson, Assistant Vice Chancellor and Director of Special Academic Initiatives TAMUS.

The board will also discuss a professional services agreement with Terracon Consultants, Inc., for geotechnical construction testing services related to the construction of academic facilities at the RELLIS Campus.

In addition, the board will consider an agreement with TAMUS for the construction phase utility services related to academic facilities at the RELLIS Campus.

The board will also:

  • Swear-in newly appointed board member, Tammy Spohn
  • Hear College District events and updates
  • Acknowledge February retirees
  • Hear an update on the strategic planning process

The Blinn College Board of Trustees will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday Blinn College- Bryan, room F-120.
