BLINN BOARD TO HOLD HEARING ON TAX RATE, TUESDAY

  

The Blinn College Board of Trustees will hold their second public meeting Tuesday on the proposed tax rate.

A special meeting of the Blinn Board is set for noon on Tuesday, specifically for the public hearing on the proposed tax rate of 6.01 cents per hundred dollar valuation.  The rate has remained the same since 2015, as property valuations have risen.  It is expected to generate about $1.8 million for Blinn’s Brenham campus, which is about one third of the college’s maintenance and operations budget.  A final vote on the tax rate will be taken on September 19^th.  Tuesday’s noon meeting will be held in the 3^rd floor board room of the Blinn Administration Building at 802 Green Street in Brenham.
