BLINN CHOIRS TO PERFORM “FAURE REQUIEM”

  

Choirs from Blinn College’s Brenham and Bryan campuses will combine for their final two performances of the academic year.

The choirs will perform, “Faure Requiem,” in Brenham and in Bryan, next week.

The first of th free concerts will be held next Tuesday (4/19) at 7 p.m. at First Baptist Church, at 304 N. Market St. in Brenham.  The second performance will be at 7 p.m. Thursday (4/21), at First Presbyterian Church, at 1100 Carter Creek Pkwy. in Bryan.

“Faure Requiem” is a major choral work written by French composer Gabriel Faure in the late 1800s.

The choirs will feature 51 total performers.  Dr. Paulo Gomes, Brenham campus choir director, will conduct the Brenham show and Christopher Hoffman will conduct the Bryan performance.

Assistant choir director Daniel Bircher will perform a baritone solo while Dr. Jeong-Suk Bae will accompany the entire performance on the organ.
