BLINN COLLEGE HOSTS LEGISLATIVE LUNCHEON

Legislators, elected officials and community leaders from across Blinn College’s 13-county service area were invited on Wednesday  to hear about the college’s priorities for the upcoming legislative session.

Blinn set its legislative priorities back in August. Among the priorities, the college will ask for an increase of core funding for each community college district by $250,000 per year. The school will also ask for a $45 million increase in state funding for community college instruction, which the college says will allow community colleges to meet workforce skill demands, increase dual credit courses, and expand educational opportunities for all students.
