BLINN COLLEGE TO HOST WELDING CREDENTIALING WORKSHOP

Blinn College will certify dual credit instructors in national welding credentialing requirements during a one-day course at the A.W. Hodde, Jr. Technical Education Center.

The welding credentialing workshop is being held tomorrow (Wednesday) and will empower dual credit instructors to certify high school students according to National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) standards. NCCER is the national standard for welding certification, and its registry allows organizations and companies to track the qualifications of their craft professionals and check the qualifications of potential new hires.

The course is $75, including meals and materials, and takes place from 8am – pm. Instruction will focus on the 10 NCCER modules necessary to qualify instructors to teach NCCER. Conference participants will become NCCER credentialed, obtain continuing education hours and be certified to certify high school students participating in Blinn’s dual credit welding program.

For more information on the workshop, contact Gayla Briles, program manager, at 979-209-7545 or gayla.briles@blinn.edu
