BLINN COLLEGE WORKFORCE TRAINING GRANT

  

Blinn College is about to receive a $267,648 job training grant from the Texas Workforce Commission.  Mid-South Synergy and Line-Tech Incorporated have partnered with Blinn College to provide job training using a this development fund grant.

The grant will train 179 new and incumbent workers in areas including water and wastewater operations, distribution line installation and removal, communications, metering, and electrical transmission and distribution.  Groundsmen, linemen, foremen, line supervisors, operations technicians and administrative support supervisors will all be trained, and upon completion, workers will earn an hours wage of $18.90 an hour.

TWO Commissioner Hope Andrade will present a check to Blinn President Harold Nolte and partnering business representatives at a ceremony 10:30 Wednesday morning at the Blinn College Board room on the Brenham Campus.
