BLINN INVITES FUTURE NURSES TO LEARN MORE ABOUT ASSOCIATE DEGREE OPTIONS

Blinn College is inviting prospective associate degree nursing students to attend an upcoming information session about the College’s highly-regarded Associate Degree Nursing Program and its Licensed Vocational Nurse – Transition (LVN-T) Option Program.

Newcomers to the nursing profession are invited to attend an info session at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, in Room 3539 of the Texas A&M Health Science Center Clinical Building 1 in Bryan, located at 8441 State Highway 47.

The LVN-T session for licensed vocational nurses seeking their nursing associate degree will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, also in Room 3539 of the Texas A&M Health Science Center Clinical Building 1.

The LVN-T Program accepts licensed vocational nurses and prepares them to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) in one year. The rigorous two-year ADN Program prepares students for nursing careers or transfer to four-year universities. Based at the Texas A&M Health Science Center, Blinn’s faculty works closely with nursing students in a simulated laboratory and in clinical settings.

Students who complete the LVN-T or ADN program and pass the NCLEX-RN have a job placement rate between 97 and 100 percent and are qualified for a wide array of nursing positions, including pediatric, geriatric, hospice, school and clinical nursing. Blinn’s pass rate on the NCLEX-RN consistently ranks above both state and national averages. New graduates can expect to earn over $52,000 per year.

To register for the LVN-T info session, visit www.blinn.edu/twe/adn/lvn_info_session.php. To register for the ADN info session, visit www.blinn.edu/twe/adn/info_session.php. Pre-registration is required.

The LVN-T and ADN programs are part of Blinn’s Division of Health Sciences, which also offers dental hygiene, emergency medical services, physical therapist assistant, radiologic technology, fire science, therapeutics manufacturing, veterinary technology and vocational nursing programs designed to train students for high-demand professions.
