BLINN INVITES MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENT TO LOOK INTO HEALTHCARE CAREERS

Blinn College is inviting 20 seventh and eighth graders to get an inside look at a variety of healthcare careers at its second annual Health Sciences Summer Camp.

The camp will be hosted July 14-16 from 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. at the College’s Health Science Center campus and is intended for students entering or finishing eighth grade. Registration, limited to 20 students, is $50 and includes a t-shirt, lunches and snacks and hands-on instruction. Email sami.rahman@blinn.edu for registration information.

Participants will learn about the many healthcare programs offered though Blinn College, including nursing, physical therapy, emergency medical services, fire science, radiologic technology, veterinary technology and dental hygiene. Students will receive both lecture and hands-on instruction from faculty, staff and local healthcare professionals.

“Middle school is the perfect time to spark a career interest,” said Sami Rahman, simulations director and camp coordinator. “We’re here to give them the opportunity to figure out what they want to do as early as possible.”
