BLINN MUSICIANS CAP SEMESTER WITH A FULL PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE

  

The Blinn College Music Department will close the Spring semester with nine Brenham performances in less than three weeks.

Woodwind, saxophone, instrumental, trombone and French horn and tuba will all have recitals at either the Dr. W.W. O’Donnell Performing Arts Center or Finke Recital Hall (map) between April 21 and May 7. All performances are free and open to the public.

The choir will produce a pair of performances starting with a camerata April 23 and a performance by the Brenham Chorale May 4 at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Brenham.

Other performances will include a jazz ensemble and a combined trombone choir with Texas A&M University coming to visit the Brenham campus to collaborate with Blinn College.

The schedule includes:

  • April 21: Woodwind studio recital at the O’Donnell Performing Arts Center at 7 p.m.
  • April 22: Saxophone studio recital at the O’Donnell Performing Arts Center at 7 p.m.
  • April 23: Camerata, in another leg of “The Butterfly Project” at the Finke Recital Hall at 7 p.m.
  • April 28: “Deep Blue” jazz ensemble at the O’Donnell Performing Arts Center at 7 p.m.
  • April 29: Instrumental student honors recital at the O’Donnell Performing Arts Center at 7 p.m.
  • April 30: Blinn and Texas A&M trombone choirs at Finke Recital Hall at 7 p.m.
  • May 4: Brenham Chorale at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church at 7 p.m.
  • May 6: Tuba recital at the Finke Recital Hall at 7 p.m.
  • May 7: Trombone and French horn studio recitals at the Finke Recital Hall at 7 p.m.

The Blinn Department of Music consistently places more students in the Texas Community College All-State Band than any other community college. Blinn’s music department offers small classes, one-on-one attention, practical learning and a dedicated faculty so students are actively engaged in a superior learning environment.

Scholarships remain available for Blinn’s choir, band, drama, instrumental and vocal programs.
