“I am excited to join Blinn College’s remarkable team of healthcare educators,” Lescarbeau said. “Blinn’s health science programs have a longstanding reputation for providing this region with qualified, compassionate healthcare professionals, and I look forward to helping the College build upon that tradition of excellence. To be a part of this team truly is an honor.”

Lescarbeau comes to Blinn from Lone Star College (LSC), where he served as Interim Dean of Health and Sciences. In that role, Lescarbeau assisted with a multimillion dollar construction renovation, assisted with the development of workforce and dual credit programs, and developed a credentialing framework for programs in a nation-wide research grant.

“Mr. Lescarbeau’s experience as an educational leader and healthcare professional make him an excellent leader for Blinn’s Division of Health Sciences,” said Karen Buck, Vice Chancellor for Administration and Operations. “His passion for technical education and commitment to student success will set the tone as Blinn trains the next generation of first responders and healthcare professionals serving our community.”

Lescarbeau previously served as Surgical Technology Program Director/Professor at LSC from 2012-16, and served as Surgical Technology Program Coordinator at McCann Technical School in North Adams, Mass., from 2004-12. He worked as a board-certified surgical technologist from 1996-2012 and a board-certified surgical assistant since 2004.

Lescarbeau has served as president of the Massachusetts State Assembly of Surgical Technologists and Chair of the Association of Surgical Assistants Advisory Committee, and is a member of the Texas State Assembly of Surgical Technologists. He has been published in the Association of Surgical Assistants Newsletter, presented at many educator conferences about technology, curriculum and instruction, and been awarded the Association of Surgical Technologists PAE Elite 20 Designation.

Based in the Texas A&M Health Science Center Clinical Building I, Blinn’s Division of Health Sciences includes programs in associate degree nursing, dental hygiene, emergency medical services, fire science, health information technology, physical therapist assistant, radiologic technology, surgical technology, therapeutics manufacturing, and vocational nursing.

Students receive first-hand training in Blinn’s 26,000-square-foot Simulation and Clinical Labs, which include an EMS lab with an ambulance simulator, two operating rooms with attached scrub areas, six high-fidelity intensive care unit rooms, 16 mid-fidelity private hospital rooms, six low fidelity private hospital rooms, a physical therapy lab, two radiologic technology x-ray suites, a virtual IV training room, a home setting and an outpatient clinical space.
