BLINN RECOGNIZED FOR SOCIAL MEDIA INTERACTION

The Texas Social Media Research Institute has named the Blinn College District one of the state’s best community colleges when it comes to interacting with students and the community on Twitter.

Blinn, which can be found at @BlinnCollege on Twitter, was ranked fourth among the state’s 50 community colleges. Colleges were ranked based upon their Klout score, which measures an account’s ability to generate responses and actions from other social media users, and their number of followers.

Blinn has more than 6,150 followers on Twitter, and engages them with a variety of content from across the district’s campuses in Brenham, Bryan, Schulenburg, and Sealy, and at The Texas A&M University System’s RELLIS Campus.

Each day, Blinn’s Marketing and Communications Department uses social media to share photos and videos of campus events, answer questions, and tell the stories of the students and faculty.

In addition to the College’s official account, Blinn’s programs, administrators, and student organizations are also active on social media.

Blinn is also active on Facebook, where it has more than 14,100 followers; Instagram; Snapchat; LinkedIn; and YouTube.

  1. All the recognition should go to the person doing all this hard work. Elizabeth Kamenicky has single handedly managed all the social media for Blinn College. She has put Blinn in the hands of all the students. Way to go Elizabeth.
