Hosted by the Blinn College Alumni & Friends and the Buccaneer Alumni Letterman Association, 37 teams participated in the fundraiser, held April 24 at the Boswell Porter 4-H Shotgun Range in Snook.

“This was a great event, not only for Alumni & Friends and the Letterman Association, but for Blinn as a whole,” said Dr. Kyle Merten, alumni relations director. “It was great to see the communities Blinn serves supporting the College.”

The team of Lenny Kirts, Aaron Flencher, Cory Flencher and Ryan Flencher won the shootout. Placing second were Katelyn Dickerson (first place female), Bubba Guedry, Jerime Johnson and Colt Woods (first place male). Tres Masser, Travis Fleetwood, Randy Hodde and Chris Lehrmann placed third, and Ben Bosse was the top youth shooter.

“I’d like to thank our sponsors and everyone who came out for their support of Blinn College and its students,” Merten said. “We look forward to making this an annual tradition that will grow alongside Blinn College.”

The day also included a presentation from two Olympians from USA Shooting. Blinn alumna Gayla Gregory and Brandy Drozd, members of the Texas A&M trap and skeet team, stopped by the fundraiser to support Blinn and raise awareness for shooting sports.
