BLUE BELL AQUATIC CENTER TO BE CLOSED ADDITIONAL WEEK
The Blue Bell Aquatic Center will be closed an additional week due to delays in the numerous upgrade projects taking place there. The Aquatic Center has been closed this week for the planned “Clean Sweep Week”. Crews have been installing the new Pool Pak system, which will help control the temperature and humidity level in the pool areas, the heat exchange unit, the boilers and hot water heaters as well as the re-plaster of the Therapy & Leisure pools. The Aquatic Center staff was notified today (Wednesday) that crews need additional time due to some unexpected delays. The Center now plans to re-open on Monday, May 7th. Aquatic Center patrons who have a monthly or yearly membership are eligible for a 2 week extention due to the closure.
You’d think that if this was a “planned” closure to replace equipment, and not an emergency replacement of equipment, it would’ve been done long before the swim team began their practices. After all, the swim team uses the pool more than anyone else. Now the team missing out on two weeks of practice (and hopefully that’s all). Great planning there.
