BLUE BELL FACES ANOTHER LAWSUIT

A Galveston County woman has filed a lawsuit against Blue Bell Creameries, alleging she became ill after eating ice cream contaminated with listeria.

On April 18, 2015, Ursula Burton bought Blue Bell ice cream at a Valero convenience store. According to the lawsuit, she and her daughter ate the ice cream and shortly thereafter became “violently ill and started to vomit”.

The lawsuit, which was filed on Monday, says Burton was diagnosed with listeriosis and is now lactose intolerant. Burton also alleges her daughter has a dairy sensitivity because she ingested the listeria-tainted ice cream.

Burton is seeking $200,000 to $1 million for medical expenses, physical impairment, lost wages, pain, and anguish.

In 2015, Blue Bell shut down production and recalled all of its products after 10 listeria cases, three of which were fatal.

  1. Did these people not need the 200,000 -1,000,000 dollars 2 years ago when it happened and when everything else went down??? Maybe they just misplaced themselves for a while and didn’t know where they were due to Listeria?

  2. Blue Bell needs to let this proceed in court rather than settle out of court because if they don’t, it’ll only encourage more to come out to the wood pile and try to collect some free money.

  3. Let’s all line up to see who we can sue!

$200,000 to $1,000,000 for an illness that probably cost a few hundred dollars in medical bills and a few days off from work. You got to be kidding me. People expect something for nothing and are always shopping for an opportunity.,

  4. I’m sorry, I feel for the families actually affected by this, but I don’t feel this is legitimate.
