BLUE BELL FUN RUN SET FOR TODAY

  

Runners will take their mark as the Blue Bell Fun Run kicks in Brenham this (Saturday) morning.

The course starts and finishes at Brenham High School on FM 2935 off of Loop 577 on the north side of town.

The Kid's One Mile Run begins at 8 a.m. The 10K Run will begin at 8:30 and the 5K Run will start at 8:45 a.m.

Packet pick-up and race-day registration is happening tonight from 4 to 8 p.m.

Started in 1978, this race benefits the Brenham High School Athletic program through an organization called Run for the Youth of Washington County. Brenham High School athletes serve as volunteers for the race to benefit numerous winning athletic programs, including baseball, track, cross country, golf, volleyball, football, softball, tennis and more.

The top finishers will receive medals and plaques. While only a few people will get trophies, organizers say everyone who participates will get the best prize of all- frozen treats from Blue Bell Creameries.
