BLUEBONNET ELECTRIC/CITY WARN OF ANOTHER SCAM

  

Officials with Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative and the city of Brenham are warning customers of a scam involving payment of electrical bills.

Officials with Bluebonnet say customers have reported receiving calls from people demanding payment for delinquent bills or their power will be disconnected.

Brenham officials say they have also received similar calls from their utility customers.

Bluebonnet General Manager Mark Rose says, “Scams like this have been going on for several years now and seem to come in waves.”

Rose says they’ve seen an increase in the past few weeks in the number of Bluebonnet members receiving fraudulent phone calls.

Brenham residents have also received messages demanding payment.

Rose urges anyone receiving such a call to contact local law enforcement.
