BLUEBONNET FESTIVAL THIS WEEKEND IN CHAPPELL HILL

One of the largest festivals in the state is set to take place this weekend in Chappell Hill.  The Bluebonnet Festival is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday (April 14th and 15th).

According to Festival Committee member Janice Wick, It has been designated by the Texas Legislature as the “Official State of Texas Bluebonnet Festival”…

The Chappell Hill Historical Society organizes the festival each year. It originated as an antique show, and now flourishes as one of the largest arts & crafts festivals in the state with over 300 vendors. The festival attracts antique and art collectors from throughout Texas to the Chappell Hill area.

One of the unique items this year is a 4 dimensional display of Soule University.  The Historical Society has been working with the Texas A&M Construction and Science Department to develop a 4 dimensional model of Soule University, which was torn down more than 100 years ago and stood where the current Chappell Hill Café is located.  Professors from Texas A&M will be at the Providence Baptist Church Saturday morning testing out this visual exhibit which virtually recreates this historic structure.

Wick says the population of the tiny community of Chappell Hill swells each year at this time…
