BPD AND WCSO MAKE ARRESTS IN COUNTERFEITING CASE

  

counterfeit arrest verticalThree people have been arrested with a fourth still at large, in connection with the recent rash of counterfeit bills being passed at local businesses.

Both the Brenham Police Department and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office have responded to numerous calls over the past month in relation to the fake money.

Back in May, both the city police and sheriff’s deputies began investigating counterfeit 100-dollar bills begin passed at a number of local businesses.

After an extensive joint investigation, Washington County Sheriff Otto Hanak reports three arrests have been made, including: 29-year old Vincent Thomas Jr. of Hempstead; 22-year old Dominique Glover of Brenham; and, 35-year old Toney Curtis of Brenham.  25-year old Brian Lamar Mose McDade of Hempstead remains at large.

Curtis was arrested by the Police Department’s Fusion Unit Thursday and is currently being held on a $100,000 bond. Glover was arrested at her home in Brenham, and her bond was set at $20,000.  Thomas was arrested at his home in Hempstead with the assistance of the Waller County Sheriff’s Department.  His bond is $50,000

All three have been charged with forgery and other charges may be filed.

Interim Brenham Police Chief Dant Lange says this has definitely been an example of how the two agencies work together to protect all citizens.
