BRAZOS CO. MURDER SUSPECT ACCUSED OF ASSAULTING JAILER

  

A Brazos County man, already accused of killing a College Station convenience store clerk, is accused of assaulting a Brazos County Detention Center employee.

Officials say Nathaniel Tillery reportedly refused to comply with a health and safety check Sunday afternoon at the Brazos County Jail.

When officers tried to take Tillery back to his cell, they say he grabbed the deputy by the neck and forced his head into a table.  The officer suffered some swelling to his head.

Officials say this is not the first time Tillery has assaulted this particular officer.

Tillery is due for a pre-trial hearing later this month, related to his murder charge.  His trial is set for January.
