BRAZOS CO. WOMAN ‘CRITICAL’ AFTER DRUNK DRIVING WRECK

  

A 21-year-old College Station driver charged with intoxicated assault, posted bail Sunday, a day after his truck flipped and ejected one of his passengers.

Gunner Vaughn Johnson was taken into custody after the crash in the 3500 block of Kenyon Drive at about 2 a.m. Saturday. He was booked into the jail early Saturday evening and posted bail before noon Sunday.

Chalsea Sue Moskovitz, remains in ICU at the College Station Medical Center with serious injuries, including spinal fractures, contusions to her brain and lungs, a laceration to her liver and a broken arm.

Johnson -- who told officers that he drank two shots of vodka, two beers and two mixed drinks in the hours leading up to the wreck – was driving over the speed limit to "show off" when he hit a parked car and flipped after running off the road, according to court documents.

He and three of his other passengers received minor injuries, while Moskovitz who was riding in the back of the truck was knocked unconscious.

Intoxicated assault is a third-degree felony punishable by up to a decade behind bars.
