Sources at the State Capitol in Austin have reported to KWHI that House Bill 1903 died on the House floor this afternoon.  The bill would have required Blinn College to allocate funds to each campus based on student contact hours.  The bill died after a vote on the floor in which it received 42 votes for and 92 votes against.  Reports from the floor of the House say the newly elected State Representative Leighton Schubert argued against the passage of the bill and was able to convince other representatives of his view.

  1. Paul……blinn in college station is getting a total remodel of it’s cafeteria facility and soon will have a whole new campus as I understand. So….have patience please.

  2. The issue is that Blinn students in Bryan and College Station seem to be underserved by the fees they are required to pay that benefit the main campus. There are many things the Bryan location needs, parking is the most obvious.

    .

  3. Looks like common sense finally prevailed, politicians should leave Blinn College alone, its a huge success because of its dedicated board and faculty and staff and doesn’t need any help (interference) from Austin.
