BRENHAM ACTIVIST ASSOCIATION HOLDS BLACK HISTORY BREAKFAST

  

 

The Brenham Activist Association held their 29th Annual Black History Breakfast on Saturday, with the guest speaker being Dr. Cherry Ross-Gooden being the featured speaker. Ross-Gooden is an Associate Professor at Texas Southern University.

The theme of Dr. Ross-Gooden’s speech was “Reflections of the Past Reflecting in the Future.” She spoke of preparing for the future while remember the past.

 

 

Dr. Ross-Gooden read the poem, “I’m Not Giving This Black Back.” by Jewel Diamond

The program was well attended by City, County, and Brenham ISD officials.

The Young Activist Association sang the song “Lift Every Voice and Sing.”

Door prizes were given.
