BRENHAM AWARDED GFOA DISTINGUISHED BUDGET AWARD

The City of Brenham submitted their annual budget to the Government Finance Officers Association for the 2016-2017 budget, and as with the past budgets, were awarded the Distinguished Budget Award by the GFOA.

The award has been given to the City for 5 consecutive budget years now, according to Chief Financial Officer Carolyn Miller. Responsible for accounting, purchasing, HR, and more, Miller submits the annual City budget to GFOA for consideration for the award.

During Thursday’s meeting, she presented the most recent award to the Council.

  1. How can you go rong and run out of money when you can keep raising property taxes on the citizens that own property in the city ?
