BRENHAM BUILDING PERMITS REMAIN AHEAD OF 2015 PACE
Brenham building permits continue to run well ahead of last year’s pace.
In May, 29 permits were issued for a total of just over $2.9-million dollars. That is well ahead of last May’s value of $450,000 for 31 permits.
For the year, 115 permits have been issued thus far, worth $27.4-million – well over the total at the same time last year of 119 permits for $16.5-million.
The largest permit issued last month was for Zippy’s Car Wash at 140 Highway 290 West for $600,000.
A permit valued at $460,000 was issued for the M.M. Owsley Memorial Garden at Firemen’s Park.
A permit worth $300,000 was issued for a new commercial building at 2019 South Market Street.
Three permits valued at $275,000 each were issued for three multi-family buildings in the 600 block of Sabine Street.
No new residential permits were issued for the month of May.
