BRENHAM, BURTON READY TO OPEN SCHOOLS
The new school year gets underway Monday, in Brenham and in Burton.
Brenham ISD Superintendent Dr. Walter Jackson says there is great excitement about kicking off the school year…
Jackson says there are several new additions and some significant changes within the district…
Also joining the administration is Allan Colvin, the new campus administrator at the PRIDE Academy.
Jackson says the district is also implementing a new Gateway pilot program that will serve the gifted and talented students in the district, focusing on students in the third grade.
Jackson says the district’s theme this year is “One Brenham-Better Together”.
Also getting underway today are classes in the Burton ISD.
Superintendent Edna Kennedy says she’s enthusiastically looking forward to getting the 2016 school year underway…
According to Kennedy, Burton’s enrollment is expected to rise to 440 students this year, and continues to grow.
