BRENHAM CITY COUNCIL AGREES ON OCTOBER FIRST FOR EXCHANGE OF SERVICES

The Brenham city council began a busy week today (Tuesday) during a special called meeting at city hall. They were following up on the work done last week at the county commissioners meeting, in the finalized October first as the day when the County takes over complete financial control and responsibilities of the emergency dispatch. City Manager Terry Roberts says the city of Brenham is also ready to complete the agreement on the first of October

The city of Brenham will continue to have full control of the animal control services, the animal shelter and the Nancy Carol Roberts Library.

The Brenham City Council will hold their regular meeting Thursday at city hall. And they will have substandard buildings on their minds. The Board of Adjustments will hold hearings late this afternoon about several structures that have been deemed substandard.
When the city council meets Thursday they will go into executive session regarding a substandard building at 209 South Market. The Commission on Buildings and standards is holding a hearing
on ten buildings Tuesday afternoon. Those buildings include 312 South Park, 605 Independence, 1103 Barnhill Street, 1103 East Main, 1308 Bridge Street, 294 Mulberry Street, 406 East Mansfield, 699 N Market, and 1800 South Austin. Action on these cases should come later according to city officials. Roberts says the city is taking up the South Market property because it is a large commercial structure that needs action now.
The Brenham City Council will also adopt new permit inspection fees and enact code enforcement by the city fire marshal.
The council will also act on amending an airport project agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation.
The Brenham city council meets Thursday at one at city hall for the regular meeting.
