BRENHAM CITY COUNCIL APPROVES FINAL LIBRARY PAYMENT

The Brenham City Council approved the final payment for the Nancy Carol Roberts Memorial Library renovation and expansion during their meeting today (Thursday).

The $3.2 million project took place over two years, with the library reopening in November.

The final payment approved today was to Collier Construction in the amount of $851.76, bringing the overall total of the project to $3,228,915.

The city council also approved a contract with Xerox Financial Services LLC for leased office equipment.

The equipment includes three photocopiers- one at the Fire Department, one Accounting Department, and one for Community Services.

The council approved a 3 year lease of the photocopiers in the amount of $10,559 per year.

The council also:

  • Approved an inter-local contract between the City of Brenham and the Harris County Department of Education. The contract allows Brenham to join Choice Partners- a purchasing cooperative that offers procurement and contract solutions to meet government purchasing requirements.
  • Held a second reading of an ordinance change concerning 87 acres on the Highway 36 Loop. The ordinance changes the property from single-family residential to a planned development district. Stylecraft Builders is planning a subdivision of approximately 250 homes on the land.
  • Approved a request for a noise variance from Marrisa Amador for a graduation party on May 12th at Fireman’s Park Kitchen.
