The Brenham Housing Authority oversees public housing in the city. They asked the City Council to increase the number of board directors from seven to nine. The increase in members will allow for executive committees to be formed. In December, the City Council will consider approving the two potential board candidates.

In other business, the City Council approved an agreement between the City and O’Malley Strand Associates for engineering services for the Church Street Water Tower Rehabilitation. The estimated engineering fees for the project are projected to be between $40,000 and $60,000 based on final design and the amount of work identified.

The Council also authorized the final payment to R&B Group, LLC. for the Water Plant Rehab Project.  The final construction cost of the project was $410,300, which is $37,500 below the original contract price.

In addition, the City Council approved a variance request from Barbara Rudloff to remove the requirement to have property frontage on a city right-of-way and approved the 2017 holiday schedule for the City of Brenham.

  1. Are these board members paid for being on the board or are they simply city employees with additional duties?
