BRENHAM CITY COUNCIL HOLDS PRE-BUDGET MEETING

  

The Brenham City Council began work on a 2017-2018 budget during a pre-budget planning meeting on Thursday.

The meeting included a brief overview of issues facing the city, including legislative matters, a five-year capital plan, and an update on FEMA projects.

City Manager Terry Roberts says they are in the design phase for several FEMA projects brought on by the storms last May.

Roberts also says the meeting included a look at the revenue sources for Brenham, which have been on an upswing:

While the meeting was mainly a brief overview of the economic conditions, Roberts says they did discuss some bigger projects the city is planning to take on:

The council is still a few months away from budget workshops, but Roberts says they will take the feedback from Thursday’s meeting into consideration when forming the draft budgets in mid-July.
