BRENHAM CITY COUNCIL TO CONSIDER REDEFINING TWO TRACTS OF LAND

The Brenham City Council will consider redefining two tracts of land at their meeting tomorrow (Thursday). There will be two resolutions and three amendments regarding the City of Brenham’s “Envision 2020” comprehensive future land map.

The first resolution is to change the district from a recreational and open space district to a multifamily district on a tract of land just above 4 acres out of the Phillip Coe Survey located on the north side of Old Mill Creek Road in Brenham. With the same tract of land in mind, the council will consider an ordinance amending the official zoning map, to change the zoning district from a single family residential use district to a mixed residential use as well as a specific use permit to allow a multifamily development on a site of two or more acres.

The council will then consider a second resolution for a tract of 2.119 acres of land out of the Phillip Coe Survey located at the Northwest Corner of the Intersection of Old Mill Creek Road and South Saeger Street. Keeping with this tract of land, the council will act on an ordinance amending the official zoning map to change the zoning district from a single family residential to a local business/residential mix use.

City Council will also discuss the concurrent change order numbers 1,2, and 3 and authorize final payment to Mercer Construction for the 2015 water distribution system improvements. They will discuss amending chapter 6, article 9 of the code of ordinances of the City of Brenham and purchasing two remote tire deflation devices for the police department. A two percent mid-year employee pay scale adjustment and approval of retail development incentive guidelines will also be considered.

The Brenham City Council will meet tomorrow (Thursday) on the second floor of city hall located on West Vulcan Street.
