BRENHAM CITY COUNCIL WELCOMES NEW K9, FIREFIGHTERS

Brenham City Council took an opportunity to recognize a new member of the Brenham Police Department and three new firefighters during their meeting on Thursday.

The council welcomed Brenham Police K9, Robbie. Police Chief Craig Goodman say the three-year old Belgian Malinois is doing great in her new role, responding to four K9 calls on her first day alone. Last week, Hempstead Police Department requested a K9 unit for assistance and Robbie alerted on a car that was carrying $13,000 of cash used in a narcotics deal.

The council also welcomed three new firefighters to the Brenham Fire Department. Brenham Fire Chief Ricky Boeker introduced Joe Hinds who will work A-Shift, Chase Jones who will work B-Shift, and Rhye Moschak who will work C-Shift.
