BRENHAM CLINIC ENCOURAGING PUBLIC TO GET ANNUAL FLU SHOTS

The Brenham Clinic is encouraging the public to prepare for flu season by getting their annual flu shots.

This year’s flu vaccine is designed to protect against the influenza virus that research indicates will be most common. While not guaranteed to prevent the flu, the vaccination minimizes your chances of contracting the flu virus and if you do get the flu, the vaccine helps to minimize the symptoms.

The Clinic is offering a flu clinic for those wishing to be vaccinated. It will be open Monday through Friday, from 8:30am until 11am and from 1:30pm to 4:00pm in the lobby of the Brenham Clinic at 600 N Park St. No appointments are required.

“We typically recommend that adults and children receive a flu vaccine well ahead of the flu season,” said Eric Alford, MD, Family Medicine physician at the Brenham Clinic. “It takes about two weeks after vaccination to have the full protection from the vaccine, so we recommend getting vaccinated as early as possible.”

For information on who should and should not be vaccinated or for more information, call the clinic at 979-836-6153.
