BRENHAM COUNCIL TO DISCUSS FEEDER ROAD EXTENSION

A discussion over extending the Highway 290 feeder road highlights the agenda for Thursday’s meeting of the Brenham City Council.

City engineer Grant Lishka says the staff would like the council’s approval to extend the 290 feeder road from Old Mill Creek Rd. to West Main.  Lishka says this would be a preferred alternative to extending Dixie St. to Old Mill Creek Rd.

Lishka says his staff believes a straight connection between Old Mill Creek Rd. and West Main is necessary—and that extending the 290 frontage road would be a much better alternative than extending Dixie St.

Lishka says city staff is coordinating meetings with property owners in that area over the acquisitions of right-of-ways.

Also at Thursday’s meeting, the council will discuss an extension of Chappell Hill St. into a new park, under development south of Highway 290.

The Brenham City Council meets Thursday at 1:00 at City Hall on West Vulcan.
