BRENHAM ELEMENTARY STUDENTS COLLECT FOR UNICEF

As part of the enrichment program offered for Brenham ISD elementary students, the three elementary campuses have teamed up to offer service learning opportunities for kindergarten through fourth grade students. Each month, students will work together to complete a service learning project and learn how their actions can impact the world.

The project for October, Trick-or-Treating for UNICEF, will take place on October 31, 2016. With parent permission, students will be asking for donations to benefit UNICEF as they travel around the community trick-or-treating. Participating students will be given a special collection box with the UNICEF logo, as well as a sticker to identify them as participants.unicef

This project involves students learning about the UNICEF organization, the countries it serves, and how their donations help children around the world. Enrichment students will be sharing their knowledge of the organization with classmates to inform all students how they can impact the world in a positive way. Once donations have been returned to the campuses, students will sort the coins, graph results of the donations, and prepare the donations to be sent to the UNICEF organization.
