BRENHAM F.D. EXTINGUISHES KITCHEN FIRE AT APARTMENT COMPLEX

  

The Brenham Fire Department extinguished a fire at an apartment complex Tuesday evening.

Just after 7:30 Tuesday night, the fire department responded to Brenham Park Apartments, located off College Avenue near Blinn College.

When they arrived on the scene, they found a kitchen fire in one of the apartments.

Authorities say the fire started when a pot used to melt candle wax was left on an electric range. The fire spread to the vent hood, a countertop microwave oven, and cabinets above the range and microwave.

Fire damage was limited to the kitchen area, with smoke damage throughout the two bedroom apartment and the apartment's contents.

There were no injuries reported as a result of the fire.
