Brenham Assistant Fire Chief, Brian Scheffer

The Brenham Fire Department has announced the promotion of Brian Scheffer to the rank of Assistant Fire Chief.

According to Fire Chief Ricky Boeker, Brian is a leader, Training Officer and Captain of the current C-Shift, and is receiving a well-deserved promotion. He will be the first Assistant Chief as a paid member of the Department, since 1979.

During his 19 years with the Department, Brian began in the Volunteer ranks from 1997-2000, became a Career Fireman, an Apparatus Operator from 2000-2012, and was promoted to Captain in 2012.

Boeker says, “Brian has already proven himself to be an excellent leader by taking on the many roles of this department. Brian has a vast knowledge of this community and will help guide this department towards a successful future.”

Brian will assist the Chief Boeker in managing daily operations of the department, supervising personnel, and serve as the Training Coordinator for all staff members (both paid and volunteer), Deputy Emergency Management Coordinator, assisting with department budget and communicating with the City Manager and elected officials on issues related to the department.
