BRENHAM FIRE DEPARTMENT ASSISTS WITH ACCIDENTS

The Brenham Fire Department was called out to assist with a pair of accidents yesterday (Wednesday).

Just after 10:00 a.m., the Fire Department was dispatched for an incident involving a vehicle that stuck a wall.

Upon arrival, the department found that a car had run into the brick wall at Fantastic Sam’s on South Day St., causing damage to both sides of the wall.

There were no entrapments within the vehicle and the driver was checked out by EMS.

Then, just before 4:00 p.m., the Department was called to a tractor trailer that had overturned in the 10,000 block of Highway 105.

Firefighters found the tractor trailer on its side in the ditch with bags of feed spilled from the trailer.  A small amount of fuel leaked from the saddle tanks but was quickly contained by Fire Department personnel.

There was one person in the truck at the time of the accident.  The individual was evaluated by EMS but was not transported.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
