  1. I was at the intersection of Blue Bell Road and North Park Street when this call came in. The fire trucks went through the intersection and took the route of Blue Bell Rd. A Volunteer Fireman in a white dully, four-wheel-drive, with bull bumper, jacked-up, with home-builder advertisement, and emergency lights on, went through a red light and poked his rig out on Blue Bell Road and practically t-boned a small car. Not much common sense here. To almost kill someone on the way to the lawnmower fire or any fire. Instead of taking the Blue Bell Road route. The dangerously driven big rig just plowed through town and by the park too, I suppose. I’m thankful that no one was maimed or killed by this display of this driver’s stupidity.

    1. I see this on a regular basis with some of the Volunteer Fireman. Mostly the younger ones. Is there not an age requirment for a Volunteer Firemen? I would think you would have to be 21yrs old at least. Please don’t misunderstand….I am extremely thankful for the Volunteer Fireman. But there must be a level of maturity and a thought process way above what some of these young men exhibit. A perfect example “Dangerous Driver”, this individual should be ticketed and fined.

    2. Look up the statistics on people killed by volunteer ’emergency’ vehicles; you might be shocked. There’s been more than a couple fatal incidents just in our area in the last few decades…
