BRENHAM FIRE DEPARTMENT KEPT BUSY WEDNESDAY

  

The Brenham Department responded to a number of calls Wednesday.

Just after 1:00 p.m., the department was called to the 1000 block of Marie St. to a smoke alarm.  The homeowner advised he had burnt some food on the stove.

BFD members checked the house and removed smoke inside the structure.  No damage was done to the stove.

The Department was dispatch just before 4:30 to the 2700 block of South Chappell Hill Street for a report of wash down at the scene of a minor accident.

BFD members used dry absorbent on the spill and returned to service.

About a half hour later, the Brenham Fire Department was dispatch to the 100 block of East Main Street for a report of smoke smell.

Members found that someone burnt food at lunch, causing the smoke smell.

Just before midnight, the Fire Department was dispatch to the 200 block of South Dixie Street for a report of a gas heater leaking gas.

BFD members along with City of Brenham gas department arrived on location to find no gas leaking from the heater or anywhere inside the house.

BFD members turned the gas off to the heater and advised the homeowner to have a repairman look at the heater.
