BRENHAM FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORT

  

Wednesday at 10:21am, Brenham Fire Department responded to 1007 Walter Schwartz Way, Blinn College Student Center, for a report of a possible structure fire.  Upon arrival and after investigation BFD did not find that the structure was on fire, but did find reports of smoke inside the board room of the building.  BFD along with Blinn Maintenance personnel searched the building for source of the smoke and found a blower motor in the attic space had malfunctioned causing the smoke.  There was no fire or smoke damage to the building and BFD turned the scene over to Blinn Maintenance.

Also on Wednesday around 10:25 am, BFD responded to 600 N. Park St. Brenham Clinic, for a report a motor vehicle crash with engine fluids leaking.  Upon arrival BFD found a 4 vehicles involved in the crash in the parking lot of the clinic with 2 of them leaking engine fluids.  BFD used dry absorbent and Nature’s Way to mediate the spilled fluids.  No other action was taken.

Wednesday, 11:16am, BFD responded to 903 Crockett St. for a report of a gas smell inside a residence.  Upon arrival and after investigation BFD found the resident had used Clorox and hot water clean the sink in the house causing the strong odor.  BFD advised resident to open windows and door while using Clorox to prevent the buildup of the fumes next time.

Thursday morning, a little after midnight, BFD responded to 906 Harrington St. for report of a possible structure fire.  Upon arrival and after investigation BFD found that the electric clothes dryer plug was half way out of the receptacle causing some minor sparking that the resident seen.  There was no fire.
