BRENHAM FIRE DEPARTMENT BATTLES HOUSE FIRE

A Washington County home received extensive damage in an early-morning fire, Tuesday.

The Brenham Fire Department was called out to the 6000 Block of Kimberly Lane, off Highway 36 North shortly after 7:30 Tuesday morning.

Fire fighters found the back of the home engulfed in flames and spent most of the morning at the scene, extinguishing the blaze and putting out “hot spots”.

Several calls for mutual aid of manpower went out to area fire departments.

The fire fighters’ efforts were complicated by an abundance of trees, brush and other vegetation in the area.

No one was injured in the fire.  The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
