BRENHAM FIRE DEPARTMENT RESPONDS TO FLURY OF CALLS, SUNDAY

It has been a busy past 24 hours for the Brenham Fire Department.

Firefighters were called out to the 1700 block of Gun & Rod Road to a house fire.

At the scene they found a wall at the rear of the house ablaze.  The fire was extinguished, but not before it caused heavy damage to the exterior.  There was light smoke damage to the inside of the house.

No one was injured and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

Just after 7:00 a.m., Sunday, the Department was called out to a one-vehicle accident in the 9000 block of FM-50, north of Brenham.

BFD units found the single occupant had been able to get out of the vehicle.  The Department checked for fluids leaking and none were found.

Firefighters were also dispatched to an illegal burning in the city limits in the 1400 block of Lauraine St.

Fire units arrived and advised the owner of the City Ordinance violation. The owner extinguished the fire.

The Department was also called out to four false alarms during the day, Sunday.
