BRENHAM FIRE DEPARTMENT TEACHES LOCAL KIDS FIRE PREVENTION

In honor of Fire Prevention Month, the Brenham Fire Department has been educating local kids all throughout the month of October.

This year’s Fire Prevention campaign is “Don’t Wait – Check the Date! Replace Smoke Alarms Every 10 Years.” This message is in part of the fire department’s show they put on for local children. The program is made up of Brenham Firefighters who develop and perform the program on an annual basis. Each year the children see a new show that highlights different safety messages. The Brenham Fire Prevention Team performed the show which highlights safety practices from changing the batteries in your smoke alarm, the ABC's of calling 9-1-1, exit drills in the home, and electrical safety in the home.

Fire Chief Ricky Boeker says he is extremely proud of the firefighters that put the program together.

The Brenham Fire Department is planning to host an open house for the public at the station and anyone that hasn’t seen the program will have that chance to attend.  KWHI will announce the time and date of the open house when details become available.

  1. Great job, Brenham Fire Department! One of the saddest things in the entire world is to see the senseless loss of a life to a household fire! Keep up the good work!
